C02 Engraving Services
High Precision Engraving For Non Metallic Substrates
Diamond Engravers 180-watt C02 engraving capability is designed to offer superior performance over lower wattage machines. Higher power facilitates faster cutting and engraving speeds without sacrificing quality. The footprint of 900 x 600 mm was selected to offer better control over larger machines yet offer facilities to cover most applications.

Key Benefits include, enhanced cutting thickness and capability, our machine can cut significantly thicker materials than standard hobbyist lasers. For example, it can easily slice through 20–25mm acrylic, corian, and thicker wooden panels.

Superior Production Speed: the high wattage allows for much faster engraving and cutting speeds on standard materials compared to 40W, 80W or 100 watt machines.

It is ideal for batch production, such as running multiple items in an array simultaneously or cutting large sheets of material quickly to meet tight deadlines. Precision and Intricate Detail: Despite its high power, our 180W CO2 lasers maintain high precision with repeating accuracy of ±0.03mm to ±0.05mm.

CO2 lasers are highly versatile for engraving a wide range of non-metal materials such as wood, acrylic, leather, and glass, and can also mark coated or treated metals

Wood & Timber Birch/poplar plywood, MDF/LDF/hardboard, solid woods (maple, cherry, oak, walnut), bamboo, balsa wood, cork. The engraving contrast can vary based on the wood type and darkness. For deep engraving without burning or charring it is recommended to use cool laser technology which we use for this purpose.

Plastics & Acrylics Cast acrylic (best for frosted look), extruded acrylic, Delrin (acetal), ABS (requires ventilation), Mylar, PETG/polypropylene, two-tone laminates.  Certain plastics like PVC/vinyl and polycarbonate should be strictly avoided due to toxic fumes.

Textiles & Leather Natural leather, suede, synthetic/PU leather (laser-safe only), cotton, hemp, linen, denim, felt, polyester/nylon, silk, velvet.  Natural leathers often produce cleaner results than treated or synthetic options. However new trends in laserable leathers supplied by us, cut and engrave perfectly with contrast engraving colours in silver, gold and black.

Paper & Card Corrugated cardboard, mat board, cardstock/heavy paper, greyboard, vellum, washi paper.  These are easy to cut and engrave, but close monitoring is required to prevent ignition. Usually ligh colours and pastel shades are far better engraved and cut using our cool laser system as there is no heat generated.

Rubber & Foam Laser rubber (for stamps), silicone sheets, EVA foam, Plastazote, Neoprene.  Special ventilation is used due to fumes generated and for certain organic elements we use special lasers to cut and engracve these materials.

Glass, Stone & Ceramics Glass, mirror (engrave reverse), slate, granite, marble, river rock, ceramic tiles, brick, agate. Our CO2 lasers can engrave (frost the surface) but cannot cut through these materials due to their thermal properties. For deep engraving we use either 2.5D, 3D or MOPA fibre lasers to generate better control of depth and finish.

Metals Anodized aluminium, painted/powder-coated metals, bare metals (with marking spray). For bare metals we use a ceramic marking compound to fuse a permanent mark to the surface however our fiber lasers are typically needed for direct metal engraving or cutting, especially deep engraving
.
Engraving capability and advanced software allows for layered engraving using different colors to assign separate functions (engrave, cut, score) to parts of a design, allowing us to process them with unique settings and in a specific order (e.g., engrave first, then cut) by dragging layers in the Layers Panel, creating depth for multi-part projects like signs or art, where elements are designed to be stacked or nested. We create layers by selecting shapes and clicking colors in the color palette, then adjust their processing order and settings in the layers window, This enhances the capability of finishes we can offer our customers.

The 180 watt machine can produce clean, smooth edges that require little to no post-processing polishing, especially on materials like acrylic or similar plastics.

Large-Scale Versatility, our footprint of 900 x 600 mm features expansive work area capable of handling architectural models, signage, and furniture components. They are compatible with a massive range of non-metallic materials, including wood, leather, stone, glass, ceramics, and textiles.

Our staff will be able to provide guidance and support how best to achieve the desired result for your project whether it is a gift, production project or test and development for engraving or cutting.
